Get involved

Sustainable financing and professional recognition for CHWs will happen because we, CHWs and allies, organize and act together. Taking action is what makes you a member. Every member brings something: your story, your skills, your relationships, your networks, your ideas. Our power comes from what each of us puts in.

Start where you are, with what fits your capacity today, and grow with us from there.

Membership is open to organizations and individuals. While members represent different roles, communities, sectors and states, we are connected by a shared commitment to CHW leadership, sustainable funding, professional recognition and coordinated action.

What membership means

Members affirm our shared commitments: CHW leadership and self-determination, a shared understanding of the CHW workforce, sustainable financing and professional recognition, collective action, strong state and national CHW infrastructure, and accountable allyship. Membership doesn’t mean endorsing every Coalition activity or policy position. You can always opt in or out of specific campaigns, based on your alignment and capacity.

Why join?

  • Add your name to a unified field. When organizations stand together, policymakers and funders see a field aligned behind CHWs.

  • Be part of coordinated federal campaigns, and decide when to join each one.

  • Connect across states through monthly national meetings with policy updates, calls to action and peer learning.

  • Shape the Coalition from the ground up.

  • And more — we’re just getting started!

Members may be invited to participate in several ways during the early phases of the Coalition’s work, and these opportunities may grow as the Coalition builds its membership base, staffing, governance and workstreams.

Come to a monthly meeting

We meet the last Thursday of every month at 1:00 pm ET on Zoom. Members receive the link by email. Not a member yet? Join first, or email ali@nationalchwpolicy.org.

  • Champion CHWs in your own work: bring CHW perspective into your organization’s policy and advocacy.

  • Invest: fund CHW leadership in federal advocacy, state policy, cross-state learning, and the team that coordinates it all.
